One of the most attractive places for nature lovers and birds
The steppe is perhaps one of the most attractive places for anyone who has a minimum interest in Nature. Not in vain these immense plains are home to much of the most exquisite our birdlife.

The common Sison of the common and has nothing is a particularly striking species in serious danger of extinction that is here one of the last refuges in Europe.

Gangas and Ortegas birds perfectly adapted to this singular habitat flap with their wings to the air that meekly rests on the plain. Its colorful plumage, its peculiar audible claim to great distance and its energetic flight to make the delights of ornithologists come from half world to contemplate the spectacle.

Another bird that can not be mentioned is the Bustard, flying bird of greater weight. There is nothing more exciting than contemplating the nuptial stops of these wonderful colossi on the flowering flower that is the steppe in spring.

But here the real queen and mistress is the real Eagle that well sea running through the skies or from its singular scene span a span with its sense of sight to the last corner of the plain plain.

To the south of Plasencia, only 20 min by car, the plain begins where we can enjoy good observations of Avutarda, Sison, Ganga Iberica, Ganga ortega, Alcaraván, Hairless hawk, Moray Sparrow and Calandria among others.

Most of these birds are sedentary. So you can enjoy it also in winter. Wintering birds of these spaces are Golden Chorlito, Alondra and Esmerejón among others.
